The Ladder Alliance Celebrates Renovation of its Success Store

The Ladder Alliance, a nonprofit organization based in Fort Worth, will host a celebration marking the reopening of its Success Store. The event will take place on February 1 from 5-7 p.m. inside the One Safe Place building at 1100 Hemphill St.

The Success Store is a key component of The Ladder Alliance’s mission to provide survivors of domestic violence and low-income women with the tools to lead self-sufficient, successful and independent lives. In addition to offering the job skills necessary to secure employment in today’s technology-focused job market, the organization collects donations of gently-used professional attire for the store. Students use vouchers earned by attending class to purchase clothing for job interviews and work. The store is also a resource for other service agencies in Tarrant County.

Over the past year, the Success Store has been transformed to look and feel more like a boutique. The space is brighter, more welcoming and more empowering for all the women who need it.

It brings the Ladder Alliance’s vision of the store as a destination where women can feel celebrated and capable to even greater life.

“This is a crucial need for our students and partner agency clients,” Executive Director Kathryn Thalken said. “When someone is in a rush to leave a dangerous situation in their home, they don’t think to grab a blazer or dress shoes. They are just trying to get to a safe place.”

The renewed Success Store was an indelible team effort, with CannonDesign providing design, architectural and construction planning services, Christman Facility Solutions who donated time and labor, organizational products contributed by The Container Store alongside other vital contributions.

“We couldn’t be more grateful for the generosity of CannonDesign, Christman Facility Solutions, The Container Store, and over 20 other companies who have contributed to make a reality what we once only thought of as a dream,” Thalken said.
