Programs

The Ladder Alliance offers women who may be survivors of domestic violence or low-income the job skills necessary to secure employment in today’s technological job market.

The Ladder Alliance works to eliminate barriers to attending class by providing snacks, bi-lingual classes, evening classes, and online classes.

Students also earn vouchers for attending class that can used in our on-site “Success Store” to purchase new or gently-used  professional attire. Vouchers for FREE haircut/blow-dry/styling are also available for every student!

Basic Computer Skills Training

This course is designed for students who have used a computer but not as a part of their daily routine or in a professional setting. 

Students will learn internet fundamentals, how to create an email, and gain essential skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Computer Skills Training II

This course (CST II) is designed for students who have a basic understanding of computers or have previously completed our Basic Computer Skills Training course (BCST). 

Students will focus on advancing their learning skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and developing an understanding of Cybersecurity and internet etiquette.

Computer Skills Training III

This course (CST III) is designed for students to learn more advanced techniques, such as creating tables and inserting pictures and shapes in Microsoft Word. Students will also utilize conditional formatting, create charts in Microsoft Excel, and create charts and tables in Microsoft Power Point. 

This course will include a brief introduction to Microsoft Designer, which helps create professional-quality social media posts, invitations, digital postcards, graphics, and more.

Microsoft Office Skills Training

This advanced-level course prepares students for certification in Microsoft Word and Excel. 

As a certified testing site, we can offer students on-site testing after the course modules have successfully been completed to complete their certification exam. The Ladder Alliance will cover the certification fee.

QuickBooks Training

Our newest certification prep program, QuickBooks Training, prepares students to sit for the QuickBooks Bookkeeping Certification exam. The following class will meet in person three times a week for 12 weeks.

Quickbooks is a finance-centered program that allows users to manage:

  • Income & Expenses
  • Business Financial Health
  • Customer Invoicing
  • Paying Bills
  • Monitoring Financial Records

Professional Office Skills Training

Professional Office Skills Training (POST) is the most advanced level of training offered to our participants. This program is a 12-week (Monday to Wednesday) course that is offered in-person only. It is a comprehensive program designed to prepare students for entry-level office work in various settings. This class will meet in person three times a week for 12 weeks.

This is an 12-week program that teaches:

  • Introduction to Accounting

  • Introduction to QuickBooks Online

  • Customer Service Certification

  • Professional Speaker Series

This includes connection to local and community resources, individualized action planning and empowering guidance throughout your time with The Ladder Alliance.

Our career coaching services are designed to assist individuals in unlocking their full professional potential. Through personalized one-on-one sessions, our skilled career coaches provide guidance, support and resources to help individuals explore various career paths, clarify their career aspirations, identify strengths and ares for development, and create actionable plans to achieve their goals.

These sessions often involve assessment tools, in-depth discussions, and targeted exercises to enhance self-awareness, build confidence, hone skills, and address challenges.
