Programs

The Ladder Alliance offers women who may be survivors of domestic violence or low-income the job skills necessary to secure employment in today’s technological job market.

The Ladder Alliance works to eliminate barriers to attending class by providing snacks, bi-lingual classes, evening classes, online classes, as well as providing childcare during evening classes, through Clayton Youth.

Students also earn vouchers for attending class that can used in our on-site “Success Store” to purchase new or gently-used  professional attire. Vouchers for FREE haircut/blow-dry/styling are also available for every student!

Basic Computer Skills Training

The BCST Program is the first level of training offered to our participants. It is an 8-week course that is offered in-person during the day, in the afternoon, in the evening, and online. This program is designed to help students in obtaining computer skills necessary in an entry level position in any field of work.

This is an 8-week program that teaches:

  • Computer Basics
  • Internet Basics
  • Introduction to MS Office: MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint

Intermediate Computer Skills Training

The ISCT Program is a continuation of the Basic Computer Skills Training Course. Potential students will be required to take BCST and receive their completion certificate, or pass an exam, before being allowed to take this course.

This is an 8-week program that teaches:

  • Cyber Security
  • Resume Building
  • Basic to Intermediate MS Office: MS Word, MS Excel and MS Powerpoint

Microsoft Office Specialist Training

MOST is an 8-week certification program designed to prepare students to take the internationally recognized Microsoft Office Specialist Exam.

Students use case studies to demonstrate efficiency, and mastery of advanced level objectives in the Word and Excel software application.

  • Microsoft Word

  • Microsoft Excel

A Pre-Approval assessment is required for program registration and acceptance.

Quickbooks Training

Our newest certification prep program, QuickBooks Training, prepares students to sit for the QuickBooks Bookkeeping Certification exam.

Quickbooks is a finance-centered program that allows users to manage:

  • Income & Expenses
  • Business Financial Health
  • Customer Invoicing
  • Paying Bills
  • Monitoring Financial Records

Professional Office Skills Training

Professional Office Skills Training (POST) is the most advanced level of training offered to our participants. This program is a 12-week (Monday to Wednesday) course that is offered in-person only. It is a comprehensive program designed to prepare students for entry-level office work in various settings

This is an 12-week program that teaches:

  • Introduction to Accounting

  • Introduction to QuickBooks Online

  • Customer Service Certification

  • Professional Speaker Series
